Highlighted Committees

Targeting Food Insecurity (2023-2024)

  • Increased regional food insecurity awareness on campus by attending policy conferences, hosting social media campaigns, and holding events on campus.

  • Canvassed to alleviate regional lunch debt for students in districts that do not qualify for federal aid.

  • Raised $5000+ to successfully pay off the lunch debt of two local elementary schools.

  • Created food bundles for Ann Arbor Schools in an attempt to institute sustainable food pantries for students during the day.

  • Won University of Michigan’s Galens Medial Society Award

  • Won University of Michigan’s TedX Community Innovation Award

  • Featured in the Michigan Daily, Detroit Free Press, Local News (4 & 7).

MRAP x ETC: Afghan Refugee Program (2022)

  • Collaborated with the University of Michigan Refugee Assistance Program.

  • Tutors sponsored a family of refugees from Afghanistan to aid in their transition to the United States: from supplemental English practice, to social changes, like understanding how to use public transportation.

  • Successfully raised $1500 to purchase laptops for six families of refugees.

  • Organized Pashto to English resources for free access.

  • Featured in the Michigan Daily

Computer Science Bootcamp (2023)

  • After the University of Michigan isolated the computer science application, high school students without access to computer science programs or experience would have a more difficult chance of admission,

  • End The Cycle volunteers hosted a free Computer Science Bootcamp at the University of Michigan for students interested in gaining such computer science experience without the opportunity to do so at home.

  • We designed a curriculum that taught students how to build and play their own game.

  • Connected students to current computer science majors for continuous mentorship and exposure to campus life.
